2022 Festivals, Music, and More

When the Pandemic hit us all in 2020, live entertainment came to a screeching halt and everyone who made a living playing music took a big hit, as did thousands of other industries and businesses. So in April of 2020 I started a new company with bay area promoter Jeff Trager to produce live stream productions until the Covid pandemic was behind us. Frazier Trager Presents got off to a good start producing high quality live stream productions but after several productions we realized people were more interested in seeing their favorite bands live and in person.

In early 2021 we decided to put together a music festival on Mare Island. After a few months of negotiating with the property owners and putting the line-up together, the Mare Island Dock of Bay Music Festival was born! On September 18th, 2021 we kicked off a very successful waterfront music festival featuring 3x Grammy Winner Fantastic Negrito, Jackie Greene, Dumpstaphunk, Them Vibes and New Monsoon. We are already booking bands for the 2022 festival and will be announcing the line-up when tickets go on sale in April 2022.

2020 New Beginnings

Hey everyone. I realize my music website has been dormant for the past five years as I was busy booking and managing the Empress Theatre in Vallejo. It was a wonderful experience and a job I enjoyed thoroughly. As of February 2020 I am no longer working at the Empress and am excited about the path ahead. I plan to play a bit more this year and look at setting up an entertainment agency that promotes live music around the north bay area.

I hope to start playing more music with many of my musician colleagues around Vallejo, Napa, and Benicia. I will start posting dates of performances as they develop. I set-up a new email for my kevfrazier account as my previous email was getting a lot of spam. If you want to reach me please use kevin@ instead of kev@. I am not going to post the entire email address to avoid the spam from webots and such. Just use my first name and the website address and you will reach me.

I look forward to reconnecting with my music fans and musician friends who have supported me throughout the years. I am excited to pick up my saxophone more often and start growing again as an artist, musician, and performer.

2017 a Year of Change

Hi Everybody,

Where does time go these days. It seems like yesterday I was playing music full time and doing a few projects on the side. I have been fortunate to play with many great bands and musicians throughout my musical career. Fast forward to spring of 2017 and I am working as the General Manager at the Empress Theatre in Vallejo. When my friend Don Bassey retired I was asked to step in on an interim basis to help the theatre until a suitable replacement was found. During that time I have been booking shows and trying to change the perception of the theatre from being a music venue to being a performing arts center. Slowly but surely the word spread and we began to see attendance grow in response to offering, music, acapella, dance, magic, stage plays, and even dancing dogs by the Olate Dogs who won Americas Got Talent. When my interim contract was up I was asked to stay on as the General Manager and am currently working full time in this capacity.

My fans and musical friends are a little bummed as I am not performing as frequently as I used to. I am trying to strike a balance but it does seems the theatre requires a good amount of my time and therefore I am not playing as much as I would like. That said, I do try to sit in with bands that are coming through the theatre, and still join the Jazz Explosion on an occasional Thursday night at the Union Hotel in Benicia. I still accept private gigs that are in the afternoon or an off night for the theatre. I also agreed to play the last Thursday of every month at the Benicia Farmers Market, so come down and say hello. I will try to update my calendar so you can see the dates I will be playing.

Check out the monthly calendar at the Empress Theatre in Vallejo if you are interested in seeing some great shows (http://www.empresstheatre.org).

2016 – A Year of Remembrance

Wow… The year is only half over and so much has happened. My mom passed in February this year and I have been dealing with a roller coaster of emotions ever since. I am happy she is at peace and no longer in any pain, but knowing I can’t just drop over and visit and spend time with her is something I am still working through. I was fortunate to be by her side when she passed and we got to share some great memories in the previous weeks. All the family and her close friends were also able to spend time with her, so it makes me happy to know that she was able to get closure with everyone. She was ready to go, and I know she is in great company!

Speaking of great company… So many famous musicians have passed this year. Prince, David Bowie, Maurice White, Glenn Fry, Gato Barbieri, Mic Gillette, Keith Emerson, Dan Hicks, Paul Kantner, and George Martin the beatles producer. I hope my mom is hanging with them and enjoying their talents in the afterlife!

What is next for me in 2016? That is a good question. I have been getting more involved with the Empress Theatre. Helping book some shows, and working with a production team that is getting ready to film a series of T.V. commercials to help promote the Empress Theatre as an entertainment destination. It truly is an amazing place to see “live” music and entertainment. Here is a video clip taken by Bob Hakin’s at the Empress Theatre. I used to play this song with Big Muddy and Davey Pattison on vocals. This clip is with Garth Webber on vocals/guitar and the North Bay All-Stars. Enjoy!

I will be posting more video’s and pictures from the past year and will be updating my calendar with all the events I will be playing this summer. Check my gig calendar to see where I am playing. Thank you for stopping by my website.

Updates and Changes in 2015

I am looking forward to 2015.  I am making a lot of changes in my life so I can devote more time to my health, my music and my kids.  I work out of my home office during the day and am already booking gigs for this summer.  I am excited to record some originals this year.  I also started an online record company with a very good friend and we are both fired up to launch some new artists this year!  Check out Access Music Records for more information. We just launched our first artists Chloe Jean and have some great “live” shows coming up.

I am going to miss my old website as I had many compliments on how great it looked, but I have to move with the times and it was difficult to update as it was a custom made flash website.  I decided to use WordPress for all my websites moving forward, as I can use many common tools for event calendars, music, videos, blogs, etc.  Much more integrated.  It might not look quite as hip, but it will make it easier for me to communicate where I am playing, and help me stay more in touch with my fans.

I hope you like the new site.  This site also gives you the opportunity to add content. Feel free to post music news, concerts worth checking out, and artist that might be a good fit for our record label, and most of all help me spread the word when I am playing music via the social plugins on the website.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Lots more to come!!
